Top Road latest

Posted on September 10th, 2009

Hi folks,
it is likely that top road works will start on Monday. This will be confirmed by Sunday. (Short timelines I know, but it depends on weather, contractors etc). The current scenario is
1. Digging out the holes on Sunday - pretty cruisy work for a few people with posthole shovels.
2. Monday early start - the contractors will start boxing up. You will be able to get up and down with care, but please avoid unless essential. You will slow down the contractors, which will cost us as they are on an hourly rate. There is labouring work available for one or two people for the day for maintenance rebates. No spectators please.
3. Tuesday finish boxing up and pour. The road will be closed completely all day. There is labouring work available for as many people as are available for the day for maintenance rebates. The more labourers the better - it will save BHC lots of money - the contractors are on an hourly rate. Lindy will do morning teas and lunch for labourers (with anyone else wants to help). No spectators please.
4. Wednesday the road will be closed all day. There is an emergency route for 4WD up the telecom track. Lewie is willing to ferry people or supplies in the red ute if urgent.
5. Thursday the road will be open for light traffic only.
6. It will be a few weeks before heavy loads can go on it.

Hi Lewie
Rotten timing for me as I have a friend on the way from the Blue Mountains to help me get the garage up next week. I will work at home on Monday, but I will help out there Tuesday for the long haul.

ciao

Hi Lindy, Lewie

This Sunday we are getting the edges of the top road shaped. I would have waited a little longer but Joe is getting D-rex out so we'll may as well do it now.
John will be supervising if you need to talk to him as I will be in Melbourne this weekend.
I am also getting a load of rotten rock to assist in the project delivered on the side of the road below the concrete.
